What should I expect?
Within a private, quiet and comfortable treatment space, your first appointment will begin with you filling out a confidential case history form to establish your current level of health and treatment priorities. Next is an interview/assessment so Deb can better understand your individual health needs. Following the assessment, Deb will leave the room allowing you to disrobe and get onto the massage table (covered by a sheet and blanket). Deb will re-enter the room and do the hands-on part of the treatment. When finished, Deb will leave the room again allowing you privacy to dress. Deb will then meet with you again to discuss the treatment and assign any necessary homecare exercises such as stretches and strengthening.
Will the massage be painful?
Massage Therapy is not inherently painful. The amount of pressure used depends on your individual needs and preference. Techniques can vary from light and relaxing to deeper and less comfortable. Ultimately, the choice is yours.
